Groups call on Biden-Harris Administration to Act now to Protect Haitians and Haiti

Haitian diaspora, faith, and civic organizations sent a letter today to President Biden and Vice President Harris asking them to take immediate steps between now and January 20, 2025, to protect Haitian immigrants and support Haitian efforts to respond to the humanitarian, security, and political crises facing Haiti. Ambassador Brian A. Nichols, Assistant Secretary of State, Western Hemisphere Affairs, responded that the recommendations would contribute to the Administration’s policy process. Organizations that signed the letter are now contacting their Members of Congress to ask them to weigh in with the Administration and move forward with the Haiti Criminal Collusion Act.
