Faith in Action Mexico Is Building Strong Teams Across Jalisco
Twenty-two leaders from four teams across Jalisco gathered for a mid-November retreat, where they affirmed their name—Faith in Action Mexico—as well as their mission and vision to build a multifaith organization that empowers communities to address pressing local issues. The retreat strengthened leaders’ skills in conducting broad listening campaigns that will lead to community assemblies and issue prioritization.
Ten leaders have visited El Salvador for a learning exchange and returned inspired to launch organizing in Guadalajara. Despite local violence, leaders are out in the streets, meeting residents, building teams, and working to address critical community issues related to better transportation, clean water, and improved municipal services in Tequila, Zapopan, Ixialatan, and San Bernardo.
