COFOA leaders in Guatemala are organizing a campaign to prevent crime and reduce violence in the City of Pastores. In coordination with local officials and central government ministries, a series of activities – public messaging through banners, posters, fliers; installation of 25 security cameras; public education events in schools and villages; house visits; – have reached thousands of people and reduced violence in Pastores. The goal over the long term is to build a culture of peace. Fr. Samuel Chonay, Pastor of St. Dionisius the Areapogite Parish, has been one of the pillars of this campaign.
