“The decision to include or exclude those lying wounded along the roadside can serve as a criterion for judging every economic, political, social and religious project.”- Pope Francis, Brothers and Sister All Encyclical
We are happy to share a few stories with you about the work our sisters and brothers in El Salvador, Rwanda and Haiti are doing to rescue those left on the side of the road. In Rwanda, leaders are near completion of another health clinic and water project. In El Salvador, leaders are bringing clean water to local communities and organizing a national land reform campaign. In Haiti, leaders are supporting eight cooperatives and three micro lending projects while organizing seminars to combat corruption at all levels. Each of these efforts is holding local and national government to account for the common good. They are also providing the model for new efforts that are taking root in Guatemala, Honduras, Ghana and South Africa. We ask for your continued prayers and financial support.
We also ask you to take another important step to support this work. We ask you to vote. Please check out candidates’ position on public health, climate health, racial justice, migration and economic equity. They are important issues for all of us. Please support candidates with a global social, political and economic agenda. Together, we can help reach the most vulnerable, not just make the rich and powerful even richer and more powerful.
We share this world together. Let us choose hope, healing and justice for all this election day. Please vote!
