Report on Diaspora Delegation to El Salvador

A delegation of grassroots leaders, organizers, and clergy from California and the Washington, DC area traveled to El Salvador in August 2023 to participate in a regional meeting organized by Communities of Faith Organizing for Action (COFOA). Participants from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and the U.S. discussed the root causes of poverty and migration and agreed to work together to strengthen democracy and hold governments accountable to meet the needs of poor and working people. During the delegation, COFOA organized a public event at the Casa Presidencial in San Salvador, with 1,400 participants, to press the Salvadoran Government to follow through on its commitments to help 350,000 families obtain titles to their land.
