Rwanda Senate President Commits to Water, Electricity and Clinic Completion by Summer
In January Kirehe’s mayor and the Mumeya Local Organizing Committee met to agree on last steps to complete plastering of the walls and bring water to the health center. The mayor has assigned additional staff, and committed that by the end of June 2013 Mumeya and the center will have electricity.
Mumeya leaders then received an unexpected visit by the Senate President Dr. Ntawukuliryayo Jean Damascene, who asked the Kirehe mayor to meet him there. Dr. Damascene confirmed that all funds needed for completion were available, and that electricity and water will be in place in June! Dr. Damascene promised to come back to Mumeya in June to celebrate these accomplishments.
