Mumeya Cooperative May Double Income of Subsistence Farmers
More than three tons of beans and corn have been collected and stored for market in off season when prices may be twice as high. This means that more than 100 subsistence farmers in Mumeya may double their income. The coop was formed by Mumeya leaders applying community organizing skills they learned from Pr. John R. The community building they completed a year ago, provides the space for storage, a community store, and a community school.
