COFOA and Faith in Action International are partnering with Caritas Lima and the Archdiocese of Lima to enable residents of the capital’s poorest districts to organize for a real say in the decisions that shape their lives. This new organizing effort is focused in communities located in the hills above Lima, where people lack have not been granted title to their land and lack access to water, electricity, schools, health clinics and other basic infrastructure. Peru has a rich social justice history tied to Catholic social teaching, which is an important source of inspiration for this effort, which began in 2026.
