OPODNE launches spring leadership workshops
In April, OPODNE Director Florcie Tyrell launched spring leadership workshops for leadership teams from 13 communities across the Northeast Department. The first workshop took place in Terrier Rouge, where members are cleaning up the main square, the streets around the hospital and the canals by the main road. Workshops include practice in how to hold one to ones with neighbors, identify issues, conduct research, and do critical self-evaluation. In addition to teaching these basic principles of organizing, Florcie is also sharing insights and outcomes from the World Meeting of Popular Movements sponsored by Pope Francis and hosted by PICO that took place on February 16-19 in Modesto, California.
