OPODNE plans their third general assembly
On May 1, OPODNE staff travelled to Phaeton to hold a leadership workshop and assess what is needed to re-launch the fishing co-op, since the fishing season lasts through June. Florcie and the staff are visiting all the Local Organizing Committees to hold leadership training workshops and review progress on the actions and projects scheduled over the past year. These visits are also building momentum for OPODNE’s Third General Assembly scheduled in August 2017. At the assembly, OPODNE leaders will elect board members and develop strategies to hold the national government and newly elected mayors accountable to the demands of the Local Organizing Committees as they improve their communities.
