PICO Delegation Inspired by Leaders in Rwanda
Twenty PICO staff, leaders and friends shared the incredible experience of learning from the staff, leaders and people of PICO Rwanda in early July. Click here to view slideshows, pictures and reflections from some of the participants. Each of us were touched by the transformation taking place in the lives and communities most people would consider among poorest and most neglected in the country: widows, prostitutes, and subsistence farmers. On the day we left, Dr. Damascene invited the delegation to join him in the Senate Chambers where he shared his enthusiasm for the work of Pr. John R and PICO Rwanda, stating that their work is what country needs to meet its goals of poverty reduction and inclusion. He committed to bring PICO Rwanda leaders to present their work to the Parliament, the Ministry Heads and select mayors. We all left humble by the power of the work and committed to sharing the stories and building support for PICO’s work in Rwanda, Central America and Haiti.
