PICO INTERNATIONAL: OPODNE 2016 HIGHLIGHTS – TERRIER ROUGE
Like everyone, Florice Tyrell and other leaders in Terrier Rouge are facing significant challenges. Their plans to start a restaurant were put on hold last year. Political instability and elections marred by violence in their town prevented leaders from securing the $10,000 needed to open their business. Despite these events, they took action to lay the groundwork. Without any financial assistance, leaders organized monthly community cleanups. The town, once so inundated by trash and debris that flood channels were blocked, is now clean and a source of pride.
