PICO-Rwanda’s Rusomo Leaders Are Laying the Foundation for a New Organization and a New Health Clinic

With training provided by Pr. John, leaders in Rusomo have completed more than 165 one-to-one conversations which affirmed the need and vision for a health clinic. This young, motivated leadership group wants to be involved in every aspect of constructing their health clinic. So far they’ve collected signatures from people who want to see construction happen; met with government sector leaders to urge their support; and gathered 14 tons of stones for the clinic foundation. They are running into some opposition from a well-connected individual who wants to build a private clinic. Leaders are confident that the government will side with their effort to build a clinic that is owned by the entire community.
