Rwanda: Building a roadside market in Nyange

Mediotrice, Dorsella and women of the Nyange Cooperative are building a full-service rest-stop and market center where they will sell roofing tiles and local produce. The business is in a prime location, right next to a busy highway used by commercial trucks, public buses, and passenger vehicles. This new roadside center will grow the demand for roofing tiles so more community members can join the cooperative and generate more income. Two hundred people just dug trenches to bring water to the area where their kiln and molding facility are located. The cooperative is asking for $5000 to complete construction of modern toilets and for water pumps.
