Santa Clara Fellows document work of PICO Rwanda
Rwanda: Student Fellows from Santa Clara University’s Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship have arrived and are working with PICO Rwanda leaders on two projects. The first is to create digital videos that profile PICO Rwanda leaders and their collective efforts. Miller Fellows are visiting rural communities to document their work. We are grateful to the Miller Center Fellows who will create a video that documents the integration of social entrepreneurship and human-centered design thinking with community organizing in Rwanda. Here are some insights into their motivation.
* Elizabeth Kamya, majoring in Sociology & Psychology says, “At the intersection of social work and social entrepreneurship, I see something beautiful.”
* Neil Brorsen, majoring in Political Science says, “This program directly relates to my vocation as an aspiring entrepreneur while emphasizing empathy.”
* Jennifer Walsh, majoring in Communication &Theater Arts says, “If my work can document a social problem and a potential solution it will be an incredibly effective way of motivating others to act.”
Miller Center Fellows are guided by Brother Keith Warner, OFM and Dr. Michelle Strecker. Thanks to Santa Clara for helping make this happen. Pr. John and Fr. Innocent are hosting the fellows and organizing the site visits and workshops in Rwanda. Thanks for making this partnership real.
