Two-hundred and Fifty San Pedro Nonualco Leaders Continue Their Fight to Reduce Violence and Crime
This February, COFOA San Pedro Nonualco leaders held a celebration to launch year two of their safety campaign – United Neighbors = Safe Neighborhoods – building on their success in 2012. Over 250 community leaders and youth received reports from local institutions regarding their progress.
Through a collaboration of COFOA leaders, public officials and major institutions, in 2012 a Strategy and Dialog table was formed, where they planned and held a series of educational/informational workshops over the year. Community members learned how to respond to domestic violence, interfamily communication, gang activity and gender-based violence. Success stories were shared by organizations that are helping families find solutions to family problems.
