Vaccines for Haiti
More than 2,000 people have already signed onto our petition asking President Biden to send vaccines directly to Haiti. We’re continuing to add names. But given the urgency we sent an initial letter with 1,400 signatures to the White House. On Tuesday, before the assassination of Jovenel Moïse, we received a call from Melissa Rogers, the Executive Director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships letting us know that they had received our letter and were working with the President’s COVID Taskforce to send a small initial shipment of vaccines to Haiti next week, and a larger shipment over the next several weeks. We do not know how the state of emergency in Haiti, including the closure of both international airports, will affect these plans. But we are continuing to push the Administration to find a way to get life saving vaccines to Haiti immediately. Please share our petition with people you know.
